ILPA Young Leaders Program

The ILPA Young Leaders Program is the pre-university edition of the Institute for Leadership, Policy & Advocacy, designed for high school students with a demonstrated interest in global affairs, governance, diplomacy, and public service. Structured to reflect the rigor of an introductory university-level or summer bridge foreign affairs or political science program, the Young Leaders Program emphasizes critical thinking, leadership development, and early exposure to global policy environments.

Participants examine regional and global issues through age-appropriate policy simulations, leadership workshops, global issue briefings, and cross-cultural learning experiences. Through mentorship, applied projects, and engagement with subject-matter experts, students develop foundational skills in policy analysis, leadership, public speaking, project management, and civic engagement. The program provides opportunities to observe policy in practice, engage with multilateral and cultural institutions, and examine questions of inclusion, national narratives, and access affecting marginalized communities.

The ILPA Young Leaders Program offers a structured academic pathway for students seeking early engagement with global affairs and public policy, cultivating the analytical foundation, leadership capacity, and global awareness necessary for future study and service.
