The Institute for Leadership, Policy & Advocacy (ILPA) is the flagship leadership, policy, and global engagement initiative of The Collaborative for Leadership, Policy, Advocacy & Global Exchange. ILPA advances high-impact leadership, strategic leadership development, public policy, diplomacy, and international engagement through executive education, leadership institutes, policy dialogues, interdisciplinary research, and global exchange programming. Designed for undergraduate students, graduate students, recent graduates, researchers, and emerging professionals, ILPA prepares the next generation of globally engaged leaders, researchers, academics, and practitioners to navigate complex challenges in governance, international affairs, economic development, foreign policy, and cross-cultural collaboration.

As part of the America250 Commemoration, the ILPA Morocco Summer 2026 Program offers a four-week academic and field-based institute examining governance, geopolitics, economic development, cultural diplomacy, and international cooperation in Morocco and the broader Global South. Morocco, America’s oldest ally and the first country to recognize U.S. independence in 1777, provides a dynamic setting for exploring regional diplomacy, global strategy, trade and investment, societal change, and policy-related issues shaping communities across borders. The program is offered in partnership with Morgan State University and Juduuh Roots Academy and includes direct engagement with government institutions, universities, civil society organizations, cultural institutions, and policy experts.

A core academic component of the program is the course Power Dynamics in the Global South: Governance, Geopolitics, Economic Development, and Cultural Diplomacy in Morocco. Through lectures, institutional visits, policy discussions, and applied research, participants strengthen analytical and critical thinking skills while examining how governance systems, economic strategies, geopolitical dynamics, and cultural diplomacy influence development and international relations. The program also explores issues related to poverty and inequality, public policy, advocacy, underrepresented and marginalized communities, and the role of leadership and institutions in advancing sustainable and inclusive development.
